We’re proud to announce that Tilly’s Bunbury is now part of The Chatty Café Scheme, an initiative that helps tackle loneliness by encouraging people to simply sit and chat.
📅 Join us at the ‘Chatter & Natter’ table launching on Thursday, 28th August 2025!
The Chatty Café Scheme was founded by Alexandra Hoskyn, inspired by a quiet visit to a supermarket café with her young son. Noticing how no one was talking, she had the simple yet powerful idea to place ‘Chatter & Natter’ signs on café tables—creating space for conversation, connection, and community.
A Chatter & Natter table is for everyone, and anyone is welcome to join!
Who Can Join In?
Absolutely anyone! Whether you’re:
On your own
With a friend or partner
A carer with someone you support
A parent or grandparent with a baby
A young person, an older adult—or anywhere in between
It’s a relaxed, welcoming way to meet new people from your local area.
How Does It Work?
Just look for the Chatter & Natter table when you arrive. Grab a seat—stay for five minutes or longer while you enjoy your drink. You don’t have to make lifelong friends—this is all about enjoying a good, old-fashioned chat.
Why It Matters
Research by Coventry University (May 2022) found:
100% of people who used a Chatter & Natter table felt less lonely and isolated
97% of participating venues said the tables encouraged community spirit
As The Chatty Café Scheme puts it:
“The coronavirus pandemic highlighted just how many people experience loneliness—and sometimes, a simple chat can brighten someone’s entire day.”
Come along and be part of something simple yet powerful. A conversation can go a long way!
